Commencement of Care
You will need to fill out enrolment forms or any relevant information before your care commences. To enable us to pay the child care Subsidy (CCS) to the educator on your behalf you need to provide our service with your CRN (customer reference number) and the CRN for your children. You will also need to ensure that your childcare Subsidy entitlement is current and updated with Centrelink. You need to confirm the enrolment details by using your Mygov account.

What is the cost of care at FDC?
Each Educator within a family day care service will set their own fee. It is important that families understand that each Educator may have a range of fees and charges depending on the service provided. You may be entitled to various Australian Government Childcare Subsidy (such as CCS). The Educator will be able to tell you the total cost of the care but is not able to provide you with an estimate of the actual cost of care reduced by your Child Care Subsidy entitlement prior to commencement as he/she will not have verification of your eligible CCS percentage.
What is CCS?
The CCS is the main way the Australian Government assists families with their childcare fees and is targeted to provide greater assistance to low-income families. Little Star Family Day Care is an approved CCS Service.
There are also changes to the annual cap which will make childcare more affordable for most families.
Three things will determine a family’s level of Child Care Subsidy:
- Combined family income
- The activity level of parents
- Type of childcare service
Some basic requirements must be satisfied for an individual to be eligible to receive a Child Care Subsidy for a child. These include:
- The age of the child (must be 12 or under)
- the child meeting immunisation requirements
- At least one parent must meet the residency requirements.
- use an approved childcare service

Fees and charges within Family Day Care Services
Family Day Care Services have a range of fees and charges which apply to families. While families are eligible for subsidy, the remaining amount, referred to as the “gap fees” must be paid by the family. Families must pay the gap fee in arrears through the central payment. (Central payment is the CCS software that, allows accurate collection of direct debit payments from a family’s chosen credit or debit card or bank account fees will apply).
Enrolment & Orientation:
The enrolment and orientation processes are designed to be the beginning of the partnership. Parents are asked to provide as much information as possible about their child and the family background (e.g. cultural, religious, and food preferences), and are provided with detailed verbal and written information about Little Star FDC and its practices and given a copy of the Service Handbook to keep. Our friendly team is here to support and guide you through your journey and assist you with any questions you may have big or small so never hesitate to call us.
Fee Structure:
Fees vary between educators depending on the locality, hours of care and inclusions. These will be detailed in your CWA (Complying Written Arrangement) at the time of enrolment.
